Welcome
Sonosite Solutions provides you with the tools and resources to improve care quality and reduce health system costs. We created quality-improvement programs focused on central venous catheterization (CVC) and peripheral intravenous catheter (PIV) insertions.
Most importantly, the program has been successfully deployed at other hospitals.

HOW IT WORKS
Sonosite Solutions requires collaboration between you and Sonosite. The process follows the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle. According to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the PDSA cycle is "shorthand" for testing a change by planning it, trying it, observing the results, and acting on what is learned.
While the available resources facilitate a self-guided project, your Sonosite representative can support throughout the project.

THE PLAN-DO-STUDY-ACT CYCLE
This web portal and accompanying resource, Sonosite Solutions: A Guidebook for Safer Central Venous Catheter (CVC) insertion and For Difficult Peripheral IV Insertion, are organized in the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle format. The PDSA cycle is represented in a circle, because no change is ever complete and together, we may go through several cycles.

St Josephs PIV
When St. Joseph's first introduced their ultrasound-guided peripheral IV (PIV) program, they didn't fully realize the impact the technology would have, not only to patients and their families, but also to doctors, nurses, and health system leaders. Their new PIV care pathway has significantly improved patient satisfaction and decreased their cost of care.
